The home is of a safe modern layout and is odour free, comprising of two separate nursing care suites one for residents with an enduring mental sometimes characterised by episodes of challenging type behaviour and a second for persons with a dementia type pathology together with a challenging behaviour profile.
This provides specialist nursing care for residents with severe cognitive impairment with associated challenging behaviours. The environment comprises spacious single bedrooms located on the first floor, all with en-suite facilities.
All bedrooms are furnished with an electronic height adjustable bed and fitted with a PIR (Passive Infra Red Beam) which, when broken, activates the call displays and staff pagers, resulting in quick intervention by staff. All rooms have a wall mounted flat screen TV (with protector as required). There is a communal bathroom, shower room and sluice room.
At the entrance to the Aldridge Suite there is a lift allowing access between the ground floor and the first floor. Adjacent to this lift on the first floor is a re-ablement lounge which also acts as a night lounge.
The ground floor has two dedicated lounges and a separate dining room which includes a kitchenette.
The main lounge opens onto a patio and secure garden area, whose features include a waterfall, raised flower-beds and safe walkways. There is also a sheltered smoking area.
